Her bisque head is marked - J Steiner BIE SGDG PARIS F1 RE A 17. She stands 18 inches tall with a bisque socket head on an original 5 piece composition body with jointed arms, straight legs, straight wrists and banana fingers. Her body is marked Medaille D'or Paris 1889.She has a working mama papa crier, voice box with pull string. She has gorgeous blue paperweight stationary eyes that have a rather inquisitive almost sad look, painted eyelashes, feathered brown brows, pierced ears and earrings, and supple, slightly parted peach colored lips. Her bisque head is adorned with a curly human hair blond wig and original cardboard pate. Dress: This beautiful doll wears her original clothing, a maroon colored, pleated dress with a wide black yoke and arm cuffs, two white petticoats with criss cross tie in the back, and long white underpants. She wears cream colored knit socks and tan bow tie leather shoes. Condition: Overall, her bisque head has no hairlines or cracks; however her left ear has a. Approximately 1/8 inch hairline crack at the ear lobe (please view the close up head shot).
The composition or perhaps the paint on both her pinky fingers have a crack, but the finger is sturdy on her hands. Perhaps some paint touch up may resolve this. There is a little wear on the composition on her left leg at the joint and her left shoulder also has some wear at the upper side of the joint. She appears to be missing a buckle on her shoe and unfortunately I acquired her without it.
I can imagine these small accessories fall away with age and are minor considering shes about 130 years old!
